![]() Wednesday, November 3 - Departure from JFK on EL AL Israel Airlines Thursday, November 4 – Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport and transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight. Friday, November 5 - This morning we will start out at the Palmach Museum in Tel Aviv, where we will join the group of young Palmach recruits from its establishment, and advance through the story of the Palmach until the end of the War of Independence. From here we will continue on to Neot Kedumim where the symbols, prayers, and holidays of the Jewish and Christian heritage, observed and preserved for thousands of years, blossom in a new and colorful dimension at Neot Kedumim, the world’s only biblical landscape reserve. Then on to Old Jaffa (Yafo) where Tel Aviv began 3,000 years ago, where the prophet Jonah set out for Tarshish, and where Peter had his rooftop experience. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Saturday, November 6 – Today is Shabbat. Free day to enjoy the Sabbath and walk around the Old Tel Aviv neighborhoods. Visit one of the local congregations; stroll along the Mediterranean Sea. Tel Aviv is called the “city that never sleeps”. Dinner and overnight Tel Aviv. Sunday, November 7 – Today we travel southward to visit S’derot, then tour and have lunch with a young friend of ours on Kibbutz Nahal Oz. Next we will head to Ashkelon and then to the Ayalon Institute. Return to our hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight. Monday, November 8 – Today we head north. Our first stop will be the Atlit British Detention Camp. We continue north to the Haifa overlook, then on to the Acco Underground Crusader City; we will descend the cable cars to the grottos of Rosh HaNikra, then drive through the Galilee to our Kibbutz hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. Tuesday, November 9 - We start the day by driving through Cana of Galilee and Nazareth to Zippori National Park, Mt Carmel where you can have lunch in a Druze village on Daliat HaCarmel and shop in their factory next door; then on to Megiddo the biblical site of Armageddon (in Hebrew – Har Megiddo), the place of the final battle. We will end our day of touring with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret). We will return to our kibbutz hotel for dinner and overnight. Wednesday, November 10 - Today we begin at Capernaum (Hebrew- Kfar Nahum) and continue to the Upper Galilee to Tel Dan and Banias. Then we will travel to the Golan Heights and Mt Bental. After touring today we are in for a special treat. Instead of dinner at the hotel tonight, we will go to the home a family where we will eat Morrocan fare and enjoy an evening of worship, fellowship and Israeli folk dancing. We will then return to our kibbutz hotel for overnight. Thursday, November 11 – Today we travel up the Jordan River Valley up to Jerusalem. We will visit the Mt of Olives, Gethsemane, and conclude at the City of David Archeological Dig. Then we will check into our hotel for dinner and overnight., which is centrally located and walking distance to both the Old City of Jerusalem and also the bustling new city center. Friday, November 12 – This morning we drive by the Knesset to Mt Herzl to the gravesites of Theodore Herzl, Golda Meir and other Israeli dignitaries. We will visit Yad VaShem Holocaust Memorial Museum and finally, the Israel Museum, including the Second Temple Period Model and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Saturday, November 13 – Today is Shabbat and a free day to enjoy the Sabbath. You may want to visit a local congregation. The Great Synagogue in Jerusalem is just down the street. You can walk to the Old City and visit the Wailing Wall. In the evening there are local congregations you may visit. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Sunday, November 14 – We head out this morning to the Dead Sea area to Massada and Ein Gedi. Make sure to bring a bathing suit and towel so you can take a float in the healing waters of the Dead Sea. Make sure not to have any cuts or shave before this though – OUCH!! We will drive by the caves of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found on our way back to Jerusalem. You will have time this afternoon for last minute shopping if you like. Dinner and overnight in our hotel. Monday, November 15 – This is our final day of touring. Make sure you dress comfortably for our long day and have suitcases packed and ready for the bus. We will start our day touring at the Southern Steps of the Temple, then on to Western Wall Tunnel, Via Dolorosa through the Old City, the Cardo, Jewish Quarter, and finish at the Garden Tomb. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner at Eretz Bereshit (Genesis Land) where we will experience biblical hospitality in Abraham’s Tent. After dinner we will be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport for our late night/early morning flight back to JFK. Tuesday, November 16 - We say “Shalom” to Israel as we depart on our early morning EL AL flight and return to JFK. **We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary as necessary.
